International Session Categories
1. International Video Symposium
Frontline Advances in Endoscopic Therapy and Its Integration with Surgical Treatment
Detail
This session focuses on recent advances in endoscopic therapy, including endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), and its integration with surgical treatment for gastric cancer.
Procedural videos will be used to share practical insights into decision-making for additional surgery, hybrid treatment strategies, and perioperative management, aiming to optimize combined endoscopic and surgical approaches.
2. International Panel Discussion
Indications and Outcomes of Conversion Surgery for Gastric Cancer
Detail
Advances in systemic chemotherapy for initially unresectable advanced gastric cancer have enabled tumor downstaging, making curative resection feasible in a subset of patients. However, consensus has not yet been established regarding the optimal indications, timing, duration of preoperative treatment, or long-term outcomes of conversion surgery.
This panel discussion aims to review current evidence and clinical experience regarding patient selection, treatment outcomes, and prognostic factors associated with conversion surgery. Through comprehensive discussion, this session seeks to clarify optimal treatment strategies and contribute to the establishment of appropriate criteria for conversion surgery in advanced gastric cancer.
3. International Workshop
Clinical Trials of Novel Therapeutic Agents for Gastric Cancer and Future Perspectives
Detail
The latest guidelines for gastric cancer treatment list cytotoxic anticancer drugs, molecularly targeted agents, and immune checkpoint inhibitors as therapeutic options for unresectable advanced or recurrent gastric cancer (URGC), based on the results of previous clinical trials. Meanwhile, clinical trials of small-molecule compounds and regenerative therapies, such as CAR-T therapy, are underway with the aim of clinical application in URGC. In this workshop, we will discuss ongoing clinical trials of novel therapeutic agents for URGC, as well as future perspectives.
4. International Video Workshop
Innovative Approaches for Challenging Gastric Cancer Surgeries (Severe Obesity, Combined Pancreatectomy, Conversion Surgery, etc.)
Detail
In gastric cancer surgery, cases involving severe obesity, those requiring concomitant resection due to invasion into adjacent organs, and conversion surgery are regarded as particularly challenging. In this workshop, we will discuss novel and advanced approaches to addressing these complex surgical scenarios.
